Essential Health Resources for Students.

College life is an exciting time of transition, but it can also be stressful and expensive. Between tuition, housing, and groceries, student health often takes a back seat. Yet taking care of yourself is the key to academic success.

If you’re studying at the Catholic University, know that you have access to great resources to take care of your health without breaking the bank. Here are the essential resources for taking care of yourself for free (or almost free)

1.The CPSU: Your On-Campus Health Center.

The Multipurpose University Health Center (CPSU) is your go-to health hub. Why is it great? Because you can see general practitioners for a standard check-up, as well as nurses, psychologists, and a gynecologist.

The real perk: The center accepts direct billing. If you have your Vitale card and up-to-date student health insurance (or your parents’ plan), you usually only have to pay €9 upfront. It’s simple, fast, and right next to your classes.

2. Student mental health support: because your mental well-being matters too

Sometimes the pressure gets too much: fatigue, the blues, exam stress… Above all, don’t go through it alone. Free mental health support is available to you on campus.

Psychologists are available for confidential consultations. The session costs €10. It’s a peaceful space to find solutions. If you feel the need, don’t wait—they’re there for you.

3. Free student check-ups (Preventive Medicine)

Did you know you’re entitled to a full check-up during your studies? This free consultation for students is the perfect time to take stock of everything:

  • Your vaccinations
  • Your vision and hearing (useful for keeping up in lectures)
  • General health

This is your chance to ask a healthcare professional any questions you may have, openly and at no cost.

4. Wellness workshops: learning to listen to yourself

Health is also about prevention. The University’s health service regularly offers workshops tailored to your daily student life:

  • Sophrology and stress management
  • Food and nutrition

These workshops are free and provide practical tips to help you feel better.

5. Support for Your Health Insurance and Your Rights

The healthcare system can seem complex when you’re dealing with it for the first time. If you’re confused about the difference between “Sécu” and student health insurance, or if you’re facing financial difficulties, don’t panic.

Advisors can help you navigate the process or check if you’re eligible for the Complémentaire Santé Solidaire (CSS).

The goal? To ensure you’re 100% covered without it costing you too much.

In short: your health can’t wait!

As you can see, everything is in place so you can get the care you need with peace of mind. Don’t let a minor ache or a dip in morale linger.
