Ideal breakfast
After a whole night, breakfast gives you energy to start the day and avoid snacking in the morning. It is important to make it a real meal for the whole family.
7 tips for an ideal breakfast
Breakfast should be a balanced meal. It should ideally consist of a seasonal fruit to crunch or squeeze, a dairy product, a cereal-based product and a hot or cold drink.
To include a dairy product in your meal, add milk to your cereal, have a yogurt, fromage blanc or a low-sugar drinking yogurt.
To eat cereal, preferably choose wholemeal bread, which you can spread with a little butter and jam for example. You can also have cereal in milk, but it is better to choose products that are low in sugar and fat.
You can have a hot drink like tea, coffee or chocolate, avoiding adding sugar, or a cold drink like a glass of milk, a squeezed fruit or even water.
Children and teenagers often turn their noses up at breakfast. However, it is essential for them to have the energy they need for all their morning activities. To help them have a good breakfast, make this time a time to share with the family. Set the table the night before and make sure that the whole family has breakfast together.
The time spent eating breakfast also counts so that all the nutrients are properly assimilated by the body: so set the alarm a little earlier to have time to eat in peace.
If you are not hungry when you wake up, take a snack with you that you will eat before starting work. For example, dry biscuits, a drinkable yoghurt or an individual portion of cheese and an apple. For children and teenagers, suggest that they bring a snack (pouch of compote or a fruit) that they will eat before the start of class.
